The Life Of Abraham

The life of Abraham reminds us that we can trust God with ALL aspects of our lives, even when we have no idea exactly where He is leading us. We are encouraged through Abraham’s story to obey God in all things, including those times when it leads to difficult or uncomfortable changes. Come with us as we dive into scripture to study the life of Abraham, uncover the wisdom offered up through his life and obedience to God, and familiarize ourselves with the covenants and promises that God made with Abraham that still hold true for us today.

Prayer Clinic
Leader: Jody Monkus

Meets: Mondays @ 6:30p
Location: Matthews area

(No Child Care Provided)

Ever struggled with prayer?  I have!  What should I say? How do I say it? Does it have to be out loud? Does it have to be long? I end up repeating myself. I end up thinking about my “to-do” list. What happens when I don’t feel like praying? Does prayer actually work? What can you do when you are disappointed in prayer?  Sound familiar?  Bring your questions with you to our life group. Our time is designed to help tackle these questions and more in small nuggets sized pieces while also practicing prayer. I learned much about prayer by being around people who prayed.  Nothing weird about it—more like apprenticeship. Come and learn the joy of a prayer life.

The idea of “calling” is a definite topic of reflection throughout Scripture which has implications for every believer. The Calling Lab is designed to give you the tools to understand and hopefully discern the voice of God amid the other voices that demand your attention. There are assessment tools and reflection questions that will help you uncover how God made and wired you, what your gifts and strengths are, and the passions that He placed inside of you. Each week we will gather and discuss the results of these things for the purpose of discerning what our calling is in the stage of life each of us is in currently. If you walk with Jesus and have a desire to better understand what God made you for at this time in your life, then this group is for you.
